4 ever best friends was a line of dolls made by mga entertainment starting in 2004. the dolls were around ten inches tall with a younger appearance than bratz and barbie. dolls came in sets of 2 or 4 with several accessories- interestingly, it seems like the characters were randomly paired, meaning you'll see several different iterations of each set. i can't find any concrete information on when the line was discontinued.
at the moment, i have two 4ebf dolls: noelle and erika!
pic coming soon
i haven't figured out exactly which wave noelle is from, but i'm reasonably sure she was originally part of the beauty time 4-pack. my only clues to go off of other than her general appearance are a pair of solid pale pink ankle boots that she came with and the fact that the line seems to have undergone a slight art style overhaul at some point, the latter of which is way more helpful since A) it rules out about half of the releases and B) you can't actually see the dolls' shoes in the packaging. the redheaded character in that 4-pack is actually called ally, which is a bit odd because in pretty much all the other releases she's called noelle. i just went with noelle because i like the name better :) i also named her after noelle holiday from deltarune a little bit
erika, on the other hand, is 100% from the girl party line.
4 ever best friends dolls fit the classic eight-inch madame alexander dolls' clothes and shoes well. that's the best match i've found, but they can also wear some barbie and liv tops and skirts, as well as elasticized bottoms from the learning curve's line of madeline dolls. if you know any other clothes that fit them, please leave a note in the guestbook!
i think these dolls are so so cute and i really wish they hadn't flown under the radar! i think they'd be reasonably popular if mga brought them back today. their faces are very sweet and i like that you can see the mga family resemblance between them and a lot of other lines- as you'll (eventually) see on my doll families page, the taller bratz produced in 2012 work well as older siblings or parents for them, and although the downgrade in the rainbow high line is unfortunate i could see a revamped version of these molds fitting in well there too. i definitely want to find more of these dolls in the future!
