x-men: first class x-men origins: wolverine The Movie That Is Literally Just Called X-Men AKA The First One

everyone was acting kind of weird in this one. i havent seen community but to me this is the xmen equivalent of "the gas leak semester"
i got to look at logan a lot so i liked it. hi yukio 1.0
me when im in an "incomprehensible timeline" competition and my opponents are the xmen movies and fnaf
but actually i liked this one a lot even though i spent most of it super confused. maximum divorce energy from charles and erik here love to see it. this too is toxic yuri.
this is the most recent movie ive watched at the time of typing this so i have the most to say about it. there were several things i enjoyed about this movie and they are as follows:
ERIK!!! he finally got to be well written but at what cost. i think this one did a good job of showing how much his whole thing is a product of circumstances. he truly feels like he has no other option because at every turn he is punished for simply existing. man. i really liked charles subverting apocalypse’s little eggman announcement. that’s what it’s ABOUT i liked jubilee even though she got like 5 seconds of screen time (fox im killing you for this) the scenes with peter (quicksilver) and mystique together were also good. and kurt :) #I’m blue i will expand upon my thoughts regarding logan’s appearance in this movie in the other section but the shot of him just running into the wilderness VR headset freshly ripped off nothing but a pair of swim trunks on was sillyhowever there were also several things i did NOT enjoy about this movie. actually more than several and i more than didn't enjoy them. welcome to the hatery
this is where i expand upon those thoughts about logan. specifically the part with him and jean which i HATEDDDDDDDDDD i understand narratively why they did it i GUESS but i do wish they had executed it wayyy differently. could it have been worse? well yes. could it have been much better considering that jean is literally in high school at this point? it absolutely could have! it was very uncomfortably drawn out and just all-around weird. why does the movie just straight up forget about jubilee two thirds of the way through speaking of thirds and halves and parts and fractions: act one of this movie is soooooooo long i aged 10 years and speaking of aging 10 years: they took peepaw’s hair :(
the vibes were very weird here... for one thing they didn't even put x-men in the title they just didn't care at this point i fear. i think they just don't know how to write jean. they need to stop letting that woman get on airplanes literally nothing good ever happens. once again i thought erik was very well written here but it sucks that they couldn't have put that same energy behind writing the main character of the movie. not a super satisfying conclusion to the franchise tbh i kind of feel like they could have stopped at dofp? although this one did make me appreciate apocalypse a lot more in hindsight and you can decide for yourself what this implies about the quality of either film. congratulations to the x-men film franchise for setting the world record of Longest Parent Trap Scheme With Most Casualties Sustained
still to come on the docket are new mutants, logan, and the 3 deadpool movies. of these i have only seen deadpool & wolverine which i watched with an exactly 2 month break in the middle earlier this year. i liked it though
