welcome to jouxlsworld!

meet ann!

date: june ninth, 2025

soooooooo remember those con crud/allergies/dust storm-induced symptoms i mentioned in the last post? turns out it was covid womp womp it was my second time having it and it wasn't really that bad, but i did kind of fall out of the habit of making updates to this site and such. but hopefully i'm back!

anyway, on to what this post is actually about: flaming text gif that reads I Got A Pullip Doll

if you don't know, pullip dolls are a south korean collector brand that's been around since 2003. they have a lever in the back of their head that allows you to change what direction their eyes are looking in. i've wanted one since i was ten or eleven, and yesterday i went to a doll show and finally got one... for sixty dollars!!! normally they'll run you at least a hundred in US currency, but this doll was out of box and wearing a simple handmade dress rather than the usually intricate outfits they come with, and when i asked the seller she was willing to let me pay sixty instead of the originally marked 75. any doll collectors in the chicago area have probably already heard of gigi and sherry's, but shoutout to them :D

this pullip is one of several dolls in the line based on various audrey hepburn characters. since she doesn't have her stock outfit, i'm not 100 percent certain, but based on her hairstyle and (non-removable) earrings i'd hazard a guess she was originally holly golightly from breakfast at tiffany's. i have never seen that movie so i decided her name is ann :)

here are a few photos!! the dresses she's wearing are both by an etsy seller called kosucas, who's based in spain. they were originally sold as sized for project mc2 dolls, but they fit her perfectly! sorry in advance for any crunchiness or destroying of the layout that might happen due to the pics- i still haven't figured out how to make the site size things according to your screen.

a photo of a pullip doll, which is a one-sixth scale collector doll with a very large head. this particular doll has brown hair with short bangs that is worn in a long, loosely curled ponytail. her eyes are also brown, and her skin is pale. she is looking to the side, away from the camera. she wears an off-white colored sweetheart dress printed with red, blue, and green flowers, and she sits atop a round pink box.

a photo of the same pullip doll, now standing with the help of an admittedly flimsy plastic stand. in this picture she wears a different dress; this one green with a white dotted pattern that stops at the waist, making the skirt solid green. the dress has tiny pockets; the doll stands with her hands in the pockets.

i'm so so happy with her!!! i think she might be one of my favorite dolls already. i'll definitely take more photos of her once i get out the Good Camera because she's really fun to photograph and i didn't show off the eye mechanism in these pics.
